- CNBC reports SpaceX posted third-quarter revenue of $14.6 billion, up 161% from the previous year and beating LSEG consensus estimates of $12.72 billion, with operating income of $2.8 billion and net income of $4.4 billion after a net loss of $1.05 billion in the same period a year earlier.
- TechCrunch says artificial intelligence "now makes up 52% of its income," with the renamed "Super Intelligence" business line generating "$7.5 billion in revenue" from the recently acquired Cursor coding tool, the Grok bot and a neocloud business that "now boasts 1.7 GW of compute." The AI business "generated $431 million in profit, which would have been higher without $1.2 billion in one-time stock-based compensation expenses related to the Cursor acquisition."
- TechCrunch reports total capital expenditures of $19.6 billion, and that CFO Bret Johnsen said the company would spend $35 billion to $40 billion on new capital investments in the fourth quarter. Musk, quoted by TechCrunch: "People are starting to realize [that] the constraint on deployment of super intelligence is more in power and cooling and infrastructure than it is in chips."
- The segment splits are the company's own reporting and are not independently verified. CNBC says Musk said he is considering a combination with Tesla and that the boards of both companies have created specific committees to discuss a consolidation.
