Aramco closes its purchase of 49% of Saudi AI firm HUMAIN for about SAR 9.9 billion ($2.6 billion) in cash plus AI assets UpdateCompany claim

  • Aramco's release, datelined Dhahran, says "PIF retains a 51% stake in HUMAIN, while Aramco acquires a 49% stake by transferring key AI assets and contributing approximately SAR 9.9 billion ($2.6 billion) in cash in 2026 to HUMAIN", with the stake held through a wholly owned subsidiary and both shareholders "contributing AI assets, capabilities, and talent."
  • The release says the transaction "supports HUMAIN's rapid scaling to meet growing regional and global demand for AI compute, with the planned deployment of 3 gigawatts of AI data center capacity by 2030", and that Aramco "is expected to leverage HUMAIN's AI infrastructure to translate advanced AI capabilities into industrial applications."
  • This closes a non-binding term sheet PIF and Aramco announced in late October 2025, which had not disclosed the stake size or price.
  • The 3 GW figure is the companies' own plan, not built capacity. Note on timing: Aramco's release is dated "November 01, 2026" and carries no time of day, so this edition cannot confirm it was published after the window opened at 11:45 UTC on 1 November; the trade press picked it up on 2 November.
